I had better not point to specific threads but there are several recent examples on all the usual forums. ;-)

Kind regards
NickStraggler 脱走兵https://www.blogger.com/profile/10129611267271999294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748156690521830936.post-37884156400445196182009-04-13T11:00:00.000+01:002009-04-13T11:00:00.000+01:00Hi Nick,Certain mistakes like the colour of the co...Hi Nick,

Certain mistakes like the colour of the cockpit of most japanese airplanes will be written, painted and said as the holly graal, even with the sentai markings mistakes will be made. What is correct the Hasegawa box art and the decals of the 1/72 Hayate of the 29th sentai or the profile on the aircam book and recently on SAM?
I guide myself with the burindo books, arawasi international and the work of some japanese like T.a Gucci and mini07 for my research and even so I am critised about the coulor of the Dinah III because it isn't the same as the Dinah ond display at Cosford!
This problem will be always around because people go after those modellers with some name in the foruns.Rui Lériashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13992951917134370197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748156690521830936.post-88916916298049960702009-04-12T18:20:00.000+01:002009-04-12T18:20:00.000+01:00Hi Nick,Very well said and I fully understand, and...Hi Nick,
Very well said and I fully understand, and support, your need to take it off your chest.
I also understand you want to keep those folks anonymous but can you at least point us to threads so as those of us who didn't catch them would read them and get better picture?
Problem with certain modellers, many of them extremely skillfull, is that when they tackle Japanese subject they present certain informatation in very authoritative way and often times it's incorrect. That is really frustrating since there is a huge pool of enthusiasts who, for variety of reasons, tend to "follow the lead". Then it's so difficult to beat cliches like ame-iro, aotake for all cockpits and such.
Keep up the great work.
MarioMarionoreply@blogger.com
