Sword have (re-)released a 1/72 scale Nakajima Ki-44-II Shoki 'Tojo' kit with two markings options (shown above), containing PUR parts for the engine and pilot seat, with masks, retailing at £17.99 in UK. Also three Mitsubishi Raiden 'Jack' variants in the same scale and same price, with PUR cockpit details.

Kovozavody Prostejov have announced a new 1/72 scale kit of the Kyūshū K11W Shiragiku IJN crew trainer. Rather than one kit with three scheme options it appears to be three kits depicting different schemes.
No price given yet or whether each kit offers additional schemes and markings options but a very welcome release of a long neglected type.

I think I'll get the Shoki, I don't know if it'll be this box or one of the upcoming releases (the decal options aren't so great...), and maybe even the J2M6.For the J2M3, I just got the old but good Hasegawa, which is less complicated.

Hi Nick, happy you're back to your blog. Yesterday, browsing the net I discovered Scalemates.com have announced a Clear Prop future release - no less than an 1/72 Aichi D2A2! The reasons of issuing an -A2 instead of an -A1 is beyond my knowledge but....better than nothing. The kit seems to be a re-release of a 2023 Wingsy Kits issue which I never heard of and is supposed to be published within 2026. Thank you for going on posting.

It's great to see this update - we have missed you! I own older releases of both Tojo and Jack, they are good and accurate kits. The Ki-44 especially is far superior to the vintage Hasegawa one.

Great to hear from you, Nick, and as always, I appreciate the news about the upcoming kits. I'm definitely going to have to get my hands on the entire Kyūshū K11W Shiragiku series— what a wonderfully obscure and interesting subject. It's exactly the kind of Japanese aircraft that I love seeing represented in 1/72 scale.
And the news from Danilo about the CP D3A2 is very exciting indeed! Finally, a new tool "Val" dreams come true :)

Not only did the artist (mis)use Ronnie's art work but he also copied the same basic Shiragiku painting for all three boxes...
