Osprey Aircraft of the Aces 100 ~ Ki-44 'Tojo' Aces of World War 2
An advance copy of this Osprey title has just arrived with publication due in October. The cover art, 32 profile illustrations, two colour plan views and monochrome plans have all been created by the talented and accomplished 3D digital artist Ronnie Olsthoorn.
Currently in preparation is 'Ki-27 Aces' for which Ronnie is also creating all the artwork.

Congratulations on the publication of your book, Nick! It is eagerly awaited here in the US, and I hope this is just the first of a long series of Osprey titles for you.

*Great* looking cover - is the setting Sumatra? I love Iain Wylie's work, but Ronnie is a terrific artist and it's nice to see your work paired together. I can't wait to read the book. Congratulations, Nick!

Hi Nick,
I cannot wait to own a copy of this book- congrats on all your hard work coming together with this publication.

Thanks very much to all for the kind comments here and elsewhere. Contributions and assistance with the text and photographs came from a broad community of generous experts and enthusiasts but IMHO the outstanding feature of the book is Ronnie's artwork. I wish the book could have reproduced it to full size.
Ronnie's cover art depicts the 87th Sentai in action over Palembang, Sumatra on 24th January 1945 against the British Pacific Fleet strikes.
Also, I wish to apologise in advance for the fact that the plan drawings in the book have not been reproduced to 1/72nd scale as they should have been and as the caption states!
Looks like another great publication and loving the cover artwork!
Hello Nick,
I got my copy yesterday and finished reading it at 3 AM this morning! Good job to you and all the others who did the heavy lifting to make it happen. Ronnie's art work is very good. I would suppose he will be doing the same for your next Osprey series title on Ki.27 aces.
Regards,
Ken Glass
